Anne is from Lancashire in the UK. She obtained her degree in teaching children with disabilities from Lancaster University and she went on to teach in primary schools in Liverpool.
The family moved to Western Australia in 1983. Anne worked for the Department of Education in a number of roles both in Head Office and in schools where she continued to teach in special schools and Education Support Centres, with particular interest in students with primary language disabilities, and to lead the team as a deputy and principal. Anne retired in 2018.
Her interests include sports of many kinds. Mainly in a watching capacity but she does play social tennis, swim and paddle for exercise. Anne also is interested in flora and fauna, particularly in Western Australia. A strong believer in giving back to the community Anne is also a volunteer at Caversham Wildlife Park where she loves meeting people from all over the world and interacting with the animals.
